ARE YOU NUMB OR SPIRITUALLY STRONG?
After years of hurt and loss, we find ourselves numb. We try to convince ourselves that we aren’t numb, we are just spiritually strong; all the while realizing we are fooling ourselves. It’s like when our heart can’t bear any more pain and it shuts down. You can’t feel deep lows anymore, but you also can’t feel elated joy. You don’t stop loving and caring for others, but emotionally you don’t feel. It’s like your mind and your heart have short-circuited their connection.

IN A MIRACLE MOMENT!
Acts 14: 8-10 In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk. Here we have Paul, who just traveled 20 miles from Iconium to avoid the plot against Barnabas and himself, to stone them by the Jews and gentiles. He wasn’t distracted by thre

BIBLE VERSES BIBLE APP!
Have we done believers a disservice by encouraging the use of bible apps to replace the use of a printed bible? Let’s consider some of the following thoughts and determine if the answer is a resounding YES! BIBLE: Undistracted study. We can turn off our phone or mute it, giving our full attention to God. Our only agenda is to spend time with God and to hear from him. PHONE: Open to all kinds of distractions during study time on app: incoming calls, text or notifications.

TO KNOW HIM
Philippians 3: 10 –11 I want to (know) Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death and so somehow to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Paul, who by the world’s standards, had everything going for him: prestige, money, power and influence. He was the leader of leaders, rule keeper and enforcer, confident in his mission of serving God. Yet, after an encounter with Jesus on the road to Damac

Lessons From the Storm - Points to Ponder
Recently in Florida we were placed under extreme weather conditions, which was quite unusual. Temperatures dropped below freezing and residents were cautioned to cover pipes and run water throughout the night to prevent freezing. We heeded the warning and prepared, but unfortunately some did not. One local church had to cancel services on Sunday due to frozen pipes and other stories surfaced by individuals experiencing the same. Our hearts broke for those affected. In pre

Reading the Gauges
In October 1972, Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 left Montevideo Uruguay headed for Chile carrying 45 passengers. During the flight, an inexperienced co-pilot who was at the controls thought they were off course, so he course corrected and flew the plane into a mountain ridge, shearing off both wings and the tail cone. The flight was carrying 19 members of the “Old Christians Club” rugby union team along with their families, supporters and friends. This accident and subsequ

Earthen Vessels
In John 2:1-11, we read the account of Jesus turning water into wine while at a wedding. It was known as the first miracle Jesus performed. The servants wereinstructed to take six stone jars, each able to hold 20-30 gallons, normally used for ceremonial cleaning and fill them to the brim with water. Jesus then turns that water into wine and instructs the servants to serve it to the Master of the Ceremonies who was astonished that the best wine was saved for last. When wi

Prison or Possibility?
Have you ever felt imprisoned by your life or circumstances? Maybe it’s your health that has bound you or your body has given out. Maybe you’re in a season where you have responsibilities that are requiring a lot of your time or you would just like to retire, but can’t. There are so many examples of moments or seasons where you may feel bound. Maybe every metal bar on your cell has a problem attached to it and for years you have been dragging your tin cup against each bar ye

The Lesser -vs- the Greater!
As a couple we recommitted our lives to God in 1995 after moving to Florida. We were swept up in a move of God that broke out in pockets around the country. At the time, we were attending a conservative Baptist Church which was the roots of our earlier years of Christianity, but 3 months in, everything changed. Our pastor went to a conference in Toronto Canada and was mightily touched by God, returning a different man. Always a great bible preacher, but upon his return t

Our Sabbatical 2025
Heavenly Waters Recently, my husband and I began a reevaluation of our lives; looking at how we spent our time, where we devoted our resources and what our motivations for life were. For a considerable amount of time, we talked about it, prayed about it and sat with those questions, allowing God to reveal what he was seeing. Then the opportunity arose where we could take a sabbatical to the mountains. Little did we know; God was giving us more than what we asked for or cou
